Your Ideal Candidate

posted Wednesday, 30 January 2008

My Mom and Aunt sent me this link to Electoral Compass USA.  After a few short questions, it tells you which presidential candidate is closest to you based on the issues.

Electoral Compass USA

I was in the social liberalism-progressive corner on the economic left.  My ideal candidate based on my beliefs is John Edwards.  No surprise for me.  Had I not found out today that he will be dropping out of the race, he would have had my vote.

Go play and tell me how you make out.

Of course, it's Obama. But Hillary has been saying more and more of the things I want to hear, lately. I'm still concerned about her campaign contributors. Sorry about John! If Barack gets in he could make him his running mate.

Blogged it myself--same basic area, equally well-suited for Obama or Edwards.

Did a similar post a couple of weeks ago. Back then it came out that I was closest to Kucinich. Now I line up with Obama

That's an interesting, but a bit simplistic approach. No surprises there for me. Obama is the closest to my "circle". Hillary next.

Edwards was the closest, now it's Obama.

Just slightly more scientific than the Magic 8 Ball approach. I found it interesting that while I was leaning toward Edwards that our thoughts on issues were similar.

Obama. Y'all know how I feel. I'm still depressed about Edwards leaving, although I hope and trust in his choice, believing that he must have left out of a belief that staying would somehow harm the chances of the candidate he'll ultimately support (Obama?). I'm just worried about winning next November.

On another note, Catty, I'm just catching up. It's been a really crazy January - while the rest of the city's construction industry is shutting down, we're slammed (most of our work is commercial and not related to houses being built, which has completely halted). In addition to being really busy, there's this new line of people at the door every day looking for jobs. Anyway, I'm sorry your job has been affected by it all and hope that you find a perfect solution. I will say that this slow-down (recession?) is real and we're feelin' it even down here in boomtown. I'm also sorry you've been sick.

it points me right to Obama, guess that's a good thing seeing as that's the way I was leaning. :-)
