Nothing says I love you best than a string of Shrimp "hearts" for Valentines Day.
Use two skewers for each string of hearts. I used 26/30 sized shrimp, raw and peeled. Two shrimp per heart. Each facing one another. I used green pepper in between because the green accentuates the red of the sauce. Baste the hearts, top and bottom, with McCormick Santa Fe Sauce , and sprinkle with Fiesta Brand Barbecued Shrimp Seasoning . Bake at 350° for 10 to 15 minutes or until shrimp are just opaque.
I also made Spanish Rice (Lipton, Knorr Brand , from a pouch) because Honey likes it and it's red. Red for Valentines day. I also picked up two packages of snow crab parts and pieces. Instead of buying the whole clusters for $8 or $9 a pound, the broken pieces were $3.50 per pound. Honey likes these too, and they are red. There was a salad that we didn't get to because we were full. The salad is green but it did have red tomatoes. We finished it off with some Gardener's Chocolates which I'm happy to report does not use child slave labor to harvest their cocoa beans (Thank you BlackPhi ) and they are made here in Pennsylvania. I know we have this red themed dinner going but the chocolate was brown.
Hugs and kisses to all my blogging Valentines!
What did you feast upon for Valentines Day??
that looked and sounded yummy! Yesterday was busy so I picked up take out.
Shirimp Egg Foo Young over shrimped fried rice with shrimp rolls. Seems
like we both had the same idea about shrimps. Drank champagne, ate black &
white marble cake with a special coffee I make. It was a very nice
evening, as I'm sure yours was.
i had nothing as delicious looking as you Valentine treat. YUM!
We had pizza so I didn't have to cook. Red sauce you know!! Happy
Valentines to you too. LOVE those heart shrimps. I'll definately be
making those.
Now that's creative! It also made me laugh for some reason. I don't know
why...maybe because, shrimp heart valentines?
