The Presidential Suite

Not really.  That would be me and Honey's room.  This is "The Man's" former teen cave.  I fixed the cracks and painted everything.  Then I added new blinds (to confuse the cats) and a matching bed ensemble (that's French, to confuse the Pennsylvanians).  I'll be adding some new wall art to complete the effect.  Honey likes the old fashioned pinch pleat curtains so I worked them into the room.  I'm also keeping a few of "The Man's" school work pieces so as not to make it seem that he's been eradicated from our lives.

The view (obstructed by blinds, to spare readers from the the neighbors uncut grass).

The office end.

The camera lens looks like it needs cleaning.  The room color is a sagey green with ivory trim.  It looks so pretty (to me anyway) that I would like to sleep in here.  Big improvement over the semi gloss off white walls and ceiling with the funky spots and drips that only guys would not see.  Photos of wall art to follow.

Good job on bringing the room(s) to you ideal colour. I can paint, but I'm hopeless, or easily satisfied, when it comes to colour. Or perhaps lazy, as in the past, I've tried to tune out my wife. But, she's always gotten her way, and has a good eye for this.

Looks great--you'd never even know that a teen ever made its lair there.

I would wish you a happy mother's day, but I haven't wished one on my own mother yet.

Kevin-Thank you and thank you. Thanks to modern technology you can go to glidden.com, behr.com, and benjaminmoore.com (three of my favorites) and get awesome color combinations for your rooms AND see what they will look like in rooms before you buy or apply them. Some of these programs will allow you to take digital photos of your room and apply the colors to it on your computer. Picking colors is almost foolproof now. It's fun too.

Mom-Thank you and thank you too, then right back at you on the happy Mother's Day. I'm working on a special art project for the room. I've taken photo's from some of our vacations and had them printed in sepia tones then I'm framing them and mounting them on ribbon. I'll take a picture of it when I'm done so you can see. Your timing is messed up because those children have caused a time warp or black hole or something like it. They suck in all light, life, and time, but strangely the only thing that escapes are brain exploding sounds.

JohnSherck-I consider myself properly wished after your dear Mother, thank you. The rules must be followed. Honey sent "the man" pictures of the room and he actually said it looked nice. No wailing and complaining about how we were trying to get rid of him, or at least Honey didn't tell me about it.

Okay, I'll be down the weekend of June 7th. Could you please prepare the heart shrimp kabobs and one of your pizzas too?

The room looks great. You did a terrific job!

I think we design our rooms to match our psychic space. And what's solid for one person is different for another. It's important for each one to find what's right for them. When I was living as a single guy, my crib was a total extension of me and was a place of personal power. Now that my Lady and I are together, it's a whole 'nother ballgame.

Madam-Thank you. The bed has prior "christening," not since the redo though. Enough of that, we'll scare the guests away with our naughty talk.

Nutsy Fagan-Your reservation is confirmed. Advanced food choices make hostessing so much easier. Good choices by the way. Thank you.

Capt.-Honey has decided I have a better sense for color. He's been happy with everything I've done so far, color wise. Where we butt heads is on furnishings.

Sophmom-Thank you. It was a low key, restful kind of Mother's Day for me.
