I think that I shall never see my feet as lovely wearing thee
Oh beautiful flip flop my foots' faithful friend
I've come to the sad realization that this is the end.
Your soft suede cushioned my road weary feet
Your beading caught the eyes of those we would meet.
Your price was a thrill a meer dollar sixty nine
it made your Chinese construction seem more than fine.
Then others showed up at half of your price
I admit I was jealous I was not very nice.
Years of wear and weather have taken their toll
The gluing and sewing will not make you whole.
With a heavy heart and a tear stained face
I throw you in a Heafty bag far from your treasured place.
I suffer now with emptiness for days I seem to ail
Until a Sunday sales flier JC Penney's half price sale!
My other pair of old favorites about to meet the big Heafty bag.

Some of my favorites with life left in them:
And last but certainly not least, the newest additions to our little summer footwear family (the replacements/and half price):

You have a very creative imagination, Lady! :) The first one's ARE ready
to go. The others weren't bad. Women and shoes... ;) Glad you're back!
Capt. my mom said I must be going through a shoe phase because I've never
owned this many shoes. They were all so pretty. The cream shoes go with
so many of my summer dresses and purse. The new black shoes go so nice
with shorts and pants. The brown shoes go equally well with shorts, skirts
and dresses. If they did this many interesting things with mens'
shoes/sandals you guys would have more too. Plus you have to cover the
basics for summer and winter with white, brown, and black. Right there you
have a minimum of six pairs of shoes.
Welcome back, the feminine side of me also loves shoes. I buy well made
good shoes and have a favorite shoe maker that keeps them in good repair.
Last month i finally threw out a pair of climbing boots that i had had
since 1972.
Hey, darlin'. We've missed you. I love sandals and red toes. Summer shoes
are the best.
Who needs Prosac when there are shoes?!
Good to be back JWL! New frame of mind should keep me from a negative
daily rant, which was where I seemed to be heading. I'll concentrate on
lighter fare. I had a pair of hiking boots, you know the kind, tan suede
with steel toes and thick craggy bottoms. I was wearing them when I moved
here to Johnstown and only parted with them when a man with a mullet gushed
over them asking where he could get a pair since he hadn't seen them in
years. I only missed them when I had to go on the big hiking boot hunt
for Arizona vacation.
