6 Weird Things

posted Thursday, 23 November 2006

It's been a very long time since a teacher gave me an assignment.  John Sherck tagged me with six weird things about myself.  At the end I will tag 6 of my blog buddies to complete the assignment.  You complete the assignment by writing your own blog entry with 6 weird things about yourself and then tagging 6 of your friends.

1.  My name is Cathy, (Catherine).  I have two brothers, Andy (Andrew) and David.  Not one of us has middle names.

2.  I married a man named David.  My brother David married a girl named Cathy.  At one point my brother Andy was dating a girl named Andrea.

3.  My husband David was 8 years older than me, which in kid years is a world apart.  We never knew each other existed even though he lived in the town right next to mine.  Unbeknown-st to us we have been crossing paths all of our lives.  My dad would take his car to a service station in Chagrin Falls for gas and repairs with me in tow.  David's first job was at this service station.  My friends and I would go roller skating at a little rink in Chagrin Falls every week.  We would sneak across the street to the yard of a little house with large bushes in front to smoke cigarettes and make out with boys until the houses occupants would chase us away.  The occupants of the house were David and his brother, they had been renting it for a couple of years.  After my parents were divorced my mom eventually bought a house in Maple Heights.  I was living with my mom in Maple Heights and going to the local community college when I met David.  David was also attending the community college and was living with his mother, who had divorced his father, and bought a house in Maple Heights.  Twenty miles away in the little town of Parma, I would go visit my grandmother who owned a home for 40 years on Westminster Drive.  Eight houses down from my grandmother was another house that had been occupied for 20 years by David's grandmother.

4.  Well my marriage didn't work out and it was my big chance to make a break from the weird name situation.  I moved to Johnstown to be with Bill (William).  End of story?  Not quite.  Bill's dad is also Bill and his mom is Kathryn.  My Bill's son's name is Andrew Michael.  My brother Davids son's name is Michael Andrew.  Bill's sister is named Christine.  Her son is named Ian.  My daughter, Christina is married (sort of) to a man named David.  My daughter Christina's two boys are Ashton and Ethan.  Who's going to complete the vowels with O and U?

5.  Here is one that is completely my own weirdness.  I simply can not puke into any toilet if there is one spot, stain, hair, whatever on the porcelain or seat.  I have been known to refrain from puking long enough to scrub the commode with bleach inside and out.

6.  Some people would think this is weird.  I hate Christmas.  Or maybe it's more that I hate the perversion that people today celebrate as Christmas.

Ok, Who's going to play along?  Papillon?  Black phi?  Chrysalis?  The Capt.?  Red Head Girl?  Kevin?

I actually related to your responses to #'s 3,5, and 6. I guess I'll give this a whirl.

Gosh, Catty, those are some pretty weird name things goin' on. I can't believe I forgot about not having a middle name when I listed mine, but I don't have one either. It was definitely weird only having two names until I got married. I think the marriage was so traumatic, I've forgotten most of what happened before it.

If I've got to hurl, I'm going to do it, regardless of the condition of the toilet.

Hey, when you start calling Christmas a perversion, it kind of sounds better and better...

and I'm with --W--. It doesn't matter what the condition of the commode, if it's time to barf, it's time to barf. It's pretty funny, though, that you can refrain.
